Maintenance and保养 of Quick-Open Blind Plates

Check the sealing groove for any rust or debris. If present, carefully clean it with high-quality fine sandpaper, then wipe dry with a clean cotton cloth.

  1. Open the blind plate, remove the sealing ring from the door, and inspect its surface for any mechanical damage. If damage is found, replace the sealing ring immediately. If no damage is present, clean it with a clean cloth dampened with a degreasing agent, then wipe it dry with another clean cloth and temporarily store it in a clean, dry place.

  2. Inspect the inside of the blind flange neck and the parts where the door makes contact when closed, including the door’s groove. If you find any dirt or rust—especially at the bottom—clean it thoroughly with sandpaper, then wipe dry with a clean cotton cloth.

  3. Check the sealing groove for any rust or debris. If present, carefully clean it with high-quality fine sandpaper, then wipe dry with a clean cotton cloth.

  4. After thoroughly cleaning the areas mentioned above, apply silicone oil or a similar lubricant (such as lithium-based grease). Be sure to grease the following areas: the grooves (apply after coating the bottom of the sealing ring, then install the seal—also coat the outer side of the seal with grease); the contact surfaces where the door closes and inside the neck; and the contact points between the locking strap and the door (specifically, the area where the sealing ring meets the cylinder body).

  5. After the blind plate is closed, gradually pressurize the pig launcher/receiver or filter separator in three steps: low pressure (0.1–0.2 PMa), medium pressure (half of the current mainline pressure under operating conditions), and high pressure (equal to the current mainline pressure). Each step must be held for at least 20 minutes, with continuous monitoring using a combustible gas detector throughout the process.
