Source:
The blind plate is positioned horizontally, with the switch mechanism located at the top when facing the head cover. The adjustment shaft points vertically upward on the right side, while the handle is on the left. Align the cylinder flange with the vessel, ensuring their inner diameters match, and then proceed with welding according to the specified guidelines.
1. Installation of Horizontal Blind Flanges
2. Safety Interlock Devices and Safe Operation
The quick-opening blind plate must be equipped with a safety interlock device, which ensures that: the pressure can only be increased once the quick-opening door reaches its designated closed position and the safety interlock is engaged; and the door can only be opened after the internal pressure in the vessel has been fully released and the safety interlock disengages—thus guaranteeing operational safety. Operators must thoroughly understand the structure of the quick-opening blind plate and adhere to the proper operating procedures before commencing any work.
3. Safety Checks Before Use
Before use, check whether all components are properly aligned and in good condition. The safety interlock device must be securely installed before pressurizing and operating the equipment.
4. Opening and Closing Operations of the Horizontal Quick-Open Blind Plate
a. Startup process
First, open the vent valve. Once the pressure inside the container drops to zero, loosen the safety screw and remove the safety interlock device only after all residual pressure has been released. The procedure is as follows: 1. Turn the switch lead screw to disengage the clamp from the head cover. 2. Pull the handle to pivot the head cover 180° to the right, thereby opening the blind plate for various operations.
b. Shutdown Process
Before closing, thoroughly clean the sealing groove, sealing surface, and sealing ring—ensuring they are free of oil stains, debris, and scratches—and apply rust-preventive grease. Grasp the handle and push the head cover toward the cylinder body; then, turn the switch screw to engage the clamp, securely fastening the head cover to the cylinder. Finally, install the safety interlock device to ensure the blind plate is ready for operation.
5. Adjustment of the Skull
When closing the head cover, if you notice the upper edge colliding with the cylinder body, it means the head cover is positioned too high. Conversely, if the lower edge of the head cover hits the cylinder body, it indicates the head cover is too low. Both being too high or too low can compromise the proper alignment between the head cover and the cylinder body. To adjust, simply rotate the adjustment shaft to bring the head cover to the correct height. The upper and lower ends of the adjustment shaft each feature four adjusting screws, which allow you to tilt the shaft freely—enabling precise alignment of the head cover with the cylinder body flange. Prior to shipment, the system is already calibrated and securely locked in place, so adjustments are typically not required under normal circumstances.
6. Maintenance and Care
1. After being put into operation, striking or colliding with any major components is prohibited;
2. All threaded rotating components should be lubricated with anti-rust grease once a year to ensure proper lubrication.
